Edit Event

Below is a simple guide on how to use the custom calendar to add, edit, and delete notes (events), switch between views (Monthly, Weekly, Daily), and print or export your custom calendar. Don’t worry if you’re not technical—just follow the steps, and you’ll be good to go!

1. Opening the Custom Calendar

When you open the calendar page, you’ll see:

  • Month and Year drop-down menus.
  • Previous and Next buttons.
  • Three “View” buttons: Monthly, Weekly, and Daily.
  • A Print/Export button (plus a drop-down to choose orientation Portrait or Landscape).

2. Navigating Dates

  1. Change Month/Year: Use the drop-down lists labeled Month and Year to jump directly to a specific month and year.
  2. Previous/Next Buttons:
    • In Monthly view, clicking Previous goes to the previous month, and Next goes to the next month.
    • In Weekly view, clicking Previous goes to the previous week, and Next goes to the next week.
    • In Daily view, clicking Previous goes to the previous day, and Next goes to the next day.

3. Switching Views

  1. Monthly View: Shows an entire month at a glance. Each box represents a day.
  2. Weekly View: Shows one week at a time, broken into half-hour time slots.
  3. Daily View: Shows a single day, also in half-hour time slots.

Just click one of the three buttons—Monthly, Weekly, or Daily—to switch views.

4. Adding a Note (Event)

Depending on the view you’re in, you can add a note by clicking on an empty space or cell:

  • Monthly View: Click on any day’s box (the white space inside that day).
  • Weekly View: Click on the half-hour slot under a specific day.
  • Daily View: Click on the half-hour slot.

When you click, a small pop-up (the Event Editor) will appear with the following fields:

  • Event Text: Type in whatever you want to remember.
  • Background Color: Pick a color for the note’s background.
  • Text Color: Pick a color for the text inside the note.

Then click OK to save the note. That’s it!

5. Editing an Existing Note

If you already added a note and want to edit or delete it:

  1. Click on the note itself (the colored box inside the cell or time slot).
  2. The pop-up appears again, showing your note’s details.
  3. Make changes to the text or colors, and then click OK to save.
  4. Or, if you’d rather remove it, click Delete.
  5. Cancel discards any changes and closes the pop-up.

6. Deleting a Note

To remove a note entirely:

  1. Click on the note to open the Event Editor.
  2. Click the Delete button.
  3. The note is removed from that cell.

7. Print or Export the Calendar to PDF

  1. Orientation: Choose Portrait (p) or Landscape (l) from the drop-down labeled Orientation.
  2. Click the Print/Export Button: This automatically generates a PDF snapshot of the current calendar view (Monthly, Weekly, or Daily).
  3. A PDF file download prompt (or a direct download) will appear so you can save or print your calendar.

8. Tips & Tricks

  • Be specific when adding notes: Include time, place, or reminders in the text so you recognize it later.
  • Use colors to categorize: For example, use one color for personal events and another for work/school events.
  • Switch views often: Checking the Weekly or Daily view can help you see more detail for each day.

9. That’s It!

You now know the basics of using the calendar:

  • Changing dates,
  • Switching between Monthly, Weekly, and Daily views,
  • Adding and editing notes,
  • And printing/exporting to PDF.

Enjoy staying organized with your custom calendar! Happy scheduling!
